How did I get here?
I have also been able to make connections with older adults throughout my nursing practice. Even in my early days as a bedside nurse, I experienced such an ease in my interactions, especially when discussing their personal health experiences and life stories. I have also seen what tremendous wisdom older adults possess. So naturally, I was drawn to an opportunity to work even more closely with this population. I was most excited about the opportunity to provide care that prioritizes principles of empowerment, self-management and preventative health.
Experience
I started by nursing career in 2010 at Toronto General Hospital in the General Internal Medicine department. I went back to school and completed my masters of nursing/nurse practitioner degree and landed a role with the in-patient nephrology team at Toronto General Hospital – I was in this role for 7 year. During my NP practice, I again went back to school and completed by PhD in Nursing in Feb 2024.
